throwaside: (♕ now you're moving on)
[To be completely honest, this wasn't how Soo-won had expected the day to end-- standing in the middle of the mountains, his companions nowhere in sight, surrounded by dead or injured men (no real soldiers, none of them, relying on the surprise and strength in numbers; but it wasn't a surprise, and "strength in numbers" is a relative concept)... and it's the two first things that give him most pause. Because the night is almost falling, and all his supplies... well, what little he had with him are on his horse, who is most likely with the others still, and really, he meant to be back before nightfall, anyway.

Aahhh, he'll surely be scolded for this.

Wiping his blade clean from blood, he fastens it on his side again and without looking back at the fallen men, at those shouting at him to just finish us off, come on, just kill us now! (and he won't, they've already lost, the battle is over and they may be after his head but it's on someone else's orders and they're still his subjects, there is no need for unnecessary bloodshed), he starts making his way up the mountain path, knowing it will take him a few hours at least to make it to the emergency rendezvous point.

After half an hour of walking and the last rays of sunlight almost faded away, he's starting to resign himself to having to find somewhere to camp out for the night-- that is, until he sees a figure walking on a path above his.]

Ah- excuse me, wait! Have you -- ... [While he calls this out, he's hastening his steps to catch up to the person walking there, small in stature and with a cloak covering their entire back... but almost instinctively, the closer he gets, the more he slows down, his words cutting to an abrupt halt even though the one he's speaking to hasn't even turned around yet.

But maybe there's no real need for that, now, not anymore.]
